I am a Senior at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in photography. My journey in photography began at age 10 when I started taking pictures to create stop-motion Lego animations. Over time, I realized that I much preferred just taking pictures. At 13, I received my first DSLR camera and have been capturing images ever since. Initially my focus was on nature shots. I have gradually expanded to include people in my landscapes and have become more interested in portraiture after working as a full-time photographer for a summer day camp. At SVA, one of my professors encouraged me to explore infrared photography which I found fascinating. Since then, I have experimented with various infrared wavelengths and am currently focused on 830nm which is similar to black and white.
